Community guide
Eighteen hundred acres, a rare swimmable beach, and the most brand-dense master community on the corridor: Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, Soho House, and a private Nicklaus course, all inside one gate.
Community story
Cabo del Sol represents the corridor's most complete transformation. Over recent years, the development has turned a 1990s golf-resort community into a multi-brand private club enclave. Understanding this structural change is the single most important factor for any prospective buyer.
Founded in 1985 by Don Koll and Robert Addison Day on an 1,800-acre parcel at Km 10.3, Cabo del Sol opened its Jack Nicklaus course in 1994, its Tom Weiskopf course in 2001, and two anchor hotels in 1999. For two decades it served as a well-regarded corridor golf community with two publicly accessible courses.
The community then underwent three major shifts simultaneously. The ocean course was taken private as The Cove Club. High-end hospitality brands were introduced, with Four Seasons opening in 2024, Park Hyatt opening in December 2025, and Soho House following. In addition, Ánima Village was built as a dedicated walkable town centre. Ownership evolved in September 2025 when Oakmont Corporation transferred a 51 percent majority stake to RLH Properties.
The result is a two-tiered community structure. Legacy subdivisions and new Cove Club offerings share the same master security gates, but they do not share the same club rights or amenity access. The CaboForSale team guides buyers through these exact boundaries before making an acquisition.
Distances & access
Cabo del Sol sits at Km 10.3 of the Transpeninsular Highway along the Cabo Corridor, positioned between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. The community features a main controlled-access gate directly off the highway, with secondary guard gates monitoring individual residential enclaves inside.
Beaches, golf & wellness
Cabo del Sol features a rare swimmable beach on the Sea of Cortez, distinguished by a protected cove, calm tide pools, and accessible snorkelling reefs. While much of the Tourist Corridor coastline is non-swimmable due to steep drop-offs and heavy shorebreaks, Cabo del Sol is one of the few exceptions. Conditions vary seasonally and the beach is not lifeguarded, but this natural cove provides a significant, enduring lifestyle advantage.
